PVR PROSE (prosthetic replacement of the ocular surface ecosystem) is used to improve quality of life by reducing symptoms and supporting healing of complex corneal diseases while restoring visual function of the eyes. It uses fabricated and custom designed prosthetic devices to support or replace the impaired ocular surface system functions.
PVR PROSE is used to:
- Improve blurry vision – by transmitting a better and sharp image to the retina of eye as it masks the irregularities of the corneal surface
- Reduce symptoms and support healing – as it restores and maintains a healthy ocular surface environment
- Prevent damage – as it protects and guards the corneal surface against injuries from the environment and eyelids
PVR PROSE is indicated in patients suffering from disease that mainly damage the cornea and affect the vision and health of the eye. PVR PROSE is indicated in patients with following diseases:
1. Ocular Surface Disease
- a. Dry eye syndrome / K sicca
- Ocular chronic GVHD
- Sjogren’s syndrome
- Refractive surgery complications (LASIK / PKP)
- Post radiation

Eyes and vision are a sensitive issue and any disorder related to vision or eyes shouldn’t be taken for granted and left untreated, as things may get worse with every passing day. If you’re experiencing or diagnosed with any of these diseases, consult Global Complex Eye Care to discuss the best available treatment option for your specific case and also discuss if PVR PROSE is suitable and ideal for your condition.
